We are Bahá'ís - members of the Bahá'í Faith. It is both the newest, and the second most widespread of the world's independent religions. The Bahá'í Faith was founded in Persia (now Iran) in 1844. Today, Bahá'ís can be found in 235 countries and territories throughout the world. We come from over 2,100 ethnic, racial, and tribal groups and number some 5 million worldwide.
Bahá'ís are followers of Bahá'u'lláh. We believe He is the Promised One of all Ages, and that His teachings address the conditions of humanity today.
Bahá'í communities all over the world are engaging in a process of community building that seeks to raise the capacity within a population to take charge of their spiritual, social, and intellectual development.
The activities that drive this process are: prayer & devotional meetings that strengthen the devotional character of the community; classes that nurture the tender hearts and minds of children; groups that channel the surging energies of junior youth; and circles of study, open to all, that enable people of varied backgrounds to advance on equal footing and explore the application of the Bahá'í teachings to their individual and collective lives.
We strive to cultivate an atmosphere where all consider themselves as treading a common path of service – supporting one another and advancing together, respectful of the knowledge that each one possesses at any given moment.
We invite you to join us in this process of collective transformation. All are welcome. It is important that every soul feel welcome to join the community in contributing to the betterment of society, commencing a path of service to humanity.
